Rear wheel wont freely spin - ProBoards.

Prying didn't help. Prying and hitting the side popped it loose and it moved back into position with no further problems. Wheel is spinning freely as it should. Rode it a bit (trying to find a place that had a replacement screw for the brake reservoir, found one!), everything seems ok now.

Do front wheel driven car's rear wheel tires just roam freely?.

I plan to do a full 4 wheel fluid flush after i get the car road worthy…other rear wheel needs a bearing in a bad way and i am drilling out a lug nut that a belle tire guy spun but that’s another story. Update: I put 5 identical washers on the studs between the bearing hub and rotor and now the wheel spins freely.

Real wheel is sticking and freewheel does not spin.

The rotor was actually getting too much pressure on the inside brake pad. Had to install a couple of shims for proper fitment. Try loosening the axle nut and spinning the wheel. Tighten the nut a little at a time, spinning the wheel each time you put some turn on it. Or just look at the pads, bet ya that's where they're binding. Jul 25, 2015. #1. Summary: Rotor/hub/caliper assembly spins fine, but when you put on the wheel and lug it down, it won't spin at all. Replaced rear brakes for a 2004 camry. Just decided to change out pads/rotors. Rotors were stuck on, had to use the little bolt holes to thread in bolts and push out the rotor. Time to change pads, pads came off. 895 Posts. #5 · Dec 2, 2012. The Drive shaft that turns the front and rear collar or hubs, Is a ONE peice shaft that is splined at the middle drive gear, You have either spun the splines in the middle drive gear or at the rear, Pull off the hub and maybe you will get lucky and it only spun the splines on the hub.

My FLH is up on a jack and the front wheel will not spin freely - it feels and sounds as if the brake pads are dragging against the rotors and it requires a moderate amount force to move it; something is clearly hanging it up. Is this a function of the forks being extended.

Car: 1992 Chevy g20 van 5.7 regular duty brakes I just installed new wheel bearings, rotor, calipers and brake pads. I have not yet re-connected the brake line. My problem is that with the new calipers and brake pads mounted the rotor no longer spins freely. Looking down at the pads it seems that possibly the heel end, or the rear end of the inboard pad is dragging. I compressed the piston on. If the axle is smooth by hand but the wheel does not spin freely, the freewheel could be gummed up. The solution for this is dripping a light oil like T9 (some people prefer Triflow, but I like T9). Since you're in a cold area, I wouldn't suggest a thicker oil like Phil's. You could also replace the freewheel, but it is easier IMO to just oil it. 5.

.

There are two way to adjust the caliper. 1. Loosen the two screws where caliper mounts to the frame. Slip a piece of paper between the disc and stationary pad. Then hold the brake lever while tightening the bolts. You may have to do it a second time with a thicker spacer (paper) if it still rubs the stationary pad. If it does, and the problem only exists with a loaded rear wheel, then normal riding loads are deforming the wheel.

When I loosen the thru-axle, everything spins freely but when I tighten it (even just barely, finger tight), the wheel/hub/something starts producing this awful noise. I cannot see anything rubbing (brakes, rotor, derailleur, etc). Has my hub gone bad? I can only think it's like, dried up hub bearings or something. Thanks for any help in advance! 6. A rear wheel, connected to the drive train, and in neutral will spin like that. There are a lot of dragging forces acting on the rear wheel and it will not spin freely. I can't hear from your video if the brake caliper is dragging but the behaviour of that wheel looks to be entirely normal.

Should rear wheels spin freely when car jacked up on rear wheel drive.

Hello, like the title says, i have an 04 sti with 57k miles. I lifted up the rear end to replace a bad wheel bearing on the drivers rear side and noticed the rear wheels are quite tough to spin. It was out of gear and no ebrake on. Anyone have any idea why there is so much tension? i dont believe to have any rear diff issues.

Should front wheels freely turn when front is jacked?.

Participant. When spun as hard as possible, the rear wheel should not spin more than one complete revolution if the brakes are adjusted properly. On the wheel that spins freely check the self-adjuster as it may be frozen in place and not allowing the brake to be adjusted on its own. It is too loose. The other side sounds like it might be too tight.

Front tire wobble at low speed.

1. axle bolt. 2. right pinch bolts. 3. bounce the front end to let the forks align to the axle. 4. left pinch bolts. OP: while everything is loose (before tightening everything up again) see if the wheel spins freely. It should go around at least once or so before stopping. Active Member. 21 Aug 2020. #11. C R said: Rather important, as you have already noticed, the wheel won't spin freely otherwise. Ideally you should take the cassette out, clean the cup properly, put in as many bearings as they will fit in the circumference, and then take one out. That will be the correct number of bearings.
